Female Urology

Specialized care for women's bladder, pelvic and urinary health, including UTIs, overactive bladder, incontinence and prolapse.

Care designed for women

Many urologic conditions affect women differently, and some are far more common in women, including urinary tract infections, overactive bladder and stress incontinence. Dr. Neal Patel and the Advanced Urology team provide a comfortable, respectful setting to talk about symptoms that are often hard to bring up.

Conditions treated

Recurrent UTIs

Recurrent UTI is usually defined as two infections in six months or three in a year, confirmed by urine culture. Evaluation looks for treatable causes such as incomplete bladder emptying or stones. Prevention strategies may include hydration, vaginal estrogen for postmenopausal women, non-antibiotic options and, when appropriate, carefully chosen antibiotic plans. The goal is fewer infections and less antibiotic exposure.

Bladder control and pelvic health

Treatment usually begins with pelvic floor therapy, bladder training and medication when needed. For symptoms that persist, options include nerve stimulation therapies, bladder Botox injections, urethral bulking and minimally invasive sling procedures. Dr. Neal Patel explains each option clearly so you can choose what fits your life.

Language support

Visit summaries are provided in your preferred language, and Spanish and Korean support is available. Call 678-344-8900 to schedule.

Preparing for your visit with Dr. Neal Patel

Bring a list of your current medications and supplements, any prior urine, blood or PSA results, and the reports (or discs) from recent imaging. If you can, arrive with a comfortably full bladder, because a urine sample and a bladder scan are often part of the first visit. Write down your main questions so nothing is missed. A family member is welcome to join you. If you prefer Spanish or Korean, let the office know when you book so language support is ready.

Your chart is reviewed before you arrive, and insurance requirements for likely imaging or procedures are checked up front so approvals can move sooner. Before you leave, your orders, prescriptions and follow-up plan are reviewed with you, and you receive education materials tailored to your condition.

At the end of the visit you will receive a written summary in your preferred language that explains what was found, what was ordered and what happens next. Your primary care physician or referring doctor receives a clear update letter with findings, plan and next steps, so everyone caring for you stays informed. Appointments are available at the Johns Creek, Cumming, Decatur and Braselton offices; call 678-344-8900.
